ROMAN THERMAL BATHS
A historical monument of national interest. The Roman Thermal Baths are considered to be of great value, for what they represent and because they are the best preserved ones in ancient Aquae Calidae, today Caldes de Malavella.
They are very well preserved and in them we can find fairly high walls, and all the mechanisms for their functioning almost intact. They are an excellent example of thermal baths used for health treatment. Making the most of the town’s thermal waters, which emerge at 60ºC, the Romans constructed a building with a central pool and a series of rooms around it for receiving health treatment. |

CASTELL DE CALDES
Three towers and a large stretch of wall is all that remains of the old castle of Caldes. Earliest records of it date from 1183, and it seems that it belonged to a family with the surname of Calidis. Although it initially belonged to the viscounty of Cabrera, it rapidly passed over to the barony of Llagostera. The remains of the Roman Thermal Baths were annexed inside its walls. |

IGLESIA DE SANT ESTEVE
11th Century basilica-shaped church dedicated to St Stephen. Of the original building it only conserves the very large Lombard-style Romanesque apses. It has been altered and extended on various occasions and what we see today dates mainly from the 17th Century (1623). The Neo-Classical façade presents the typical forms of the idealised world. On either side of the door, at the bottom, you can see one of the symbols of Caldes, some large boilers.
